I tested it both on an installed system as well as a live-cd, still no joy with sound + mic however I managed to fix the screen resolution with 915resolution, and wireless with ipw2200 driver in Edgy.
Working in a multimedia field I do require my audio/mic to be working perfectly, otherwise the whole concept of moving to Linux is useless for me, which I really don't want to happen. Now I will look into other distro's that has the above problems addressed.
