Thank you Vincenzo! Here is an update for my bug-report: ad 1) logo did not appear in Gnome menu: I uninstalled the Lyx package (completely remove) via Synaptics and I installed Lyx again. The logo appears now in the the Gnome-menu as expected. This issue seems to be resolved. Thank you very much to the developers!
ad 2) Text in the toolbar is hardly readable: I unistalled the ttf-arphic-uming package as suggested by Vincenzo. Indeed the qualtiy of the fonts in the Lyx menu is now much better! Unistalling the ttf-arphic-uming package seems to be a workaround for this problem. Remaining font issue: The font is rather small and does not fit the look of the fonts that are used elsewhere. In Feisty this has not been the case - there the Lyx-menu fonts match the fonts used in other Gnome applications. ad 3) The suggested (by Vincenzo) solution would meet the requirements of most Lyx users. The proposed solution can be summarized as follows: Provide two Lyx packages: 1. Lyx (default) which pulls all dependencies that are typically required and that are required to compile and print the documentation that is delivered with lyx 2. Lyx-minimal which is suitable for users that do only use lyx (e.g. on a tablet/mobile computer) to edit lyx documents without a latex system. Should I open a bug (enhancement) report upstream (Debian)? -- Lyx has several packaging problems https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/186797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
