I'm not sure about the soundcard (it's a work machine). Based on the specs quoted on the Dell website, the type is "ADI 1983". lspci reports "Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family)"
In the "Sound preferences" dialog I have configured "PCM" as the "Default Mixer Track", but that setting seems to be ignored. Using the keyboard controls adjusts the "Headphone" volume, regardless of what I have configured as the default mixer track. Using gnome-volume-control, I can adjust the volume for both PCM and Front channels, the combination of which controls the volume that I hear. When gnome-volume-contol is docked, I can control the "front channel" volume. -- Configuration of default mixer tracks is ignored https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
