sorry for the terms  i used, and i forgot a point and you also made a
mistake. 64bit sytstems use vesafb , and vesafb-tng, so i doubt its
deprecated, and thes issue is only on 64bit systems, on 32bit there
isn't this problem. so the issue if the ubuntu team will continue using
vesafb-tng on 64bit systems, the bootup splash will never work and
people with 64bit system will only see a turned off monitor unless they
disable the splash. there is no patch/fix for this. the only way is to
use vesafb on 64bit systems and leave vesafb-tng for 32bit systems. and
my bad again for the term "stupid".
