Timo: Thanks for your response. This is a work computer so I don't think
installing Alpha-quality Hardy is a reasonable solution. I will try to
attach Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf ASAP. At the moment, I'm rebooted back
in Windows unfortunately. :(
I also don't think this bug is a duplicate of #149764. I don't have a
dual-head or dual-screen or TV-out setup. My problem is also not some
1-second delay in menus. The entire desktop is so slow that the system
is unusable. And windows are completely blank also, adding to the
problem. It's not an annoyance. I must disable 3D effects or disable
the binary drivers to use Ubuntu.
