Does this problem still happen for you on Ubuntu 7.10 with
openoffice.org 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5.3?
I think the problem that some users are reporting are due to specific
presentations that Impress has trouble opening, but older versions of
Impress would crash on every document, so I am not sure if your problem
has been corrected or not.
