Hi Edwin. Thanks for testing. The framebuffer drivers are "generally buggy and poorly-supported, and cause suspend failures, kernel panics and general mayhem." - see /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer . From your comments it seems that this may be an X server issue originally. Care to take a look at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Debugging . Thanks.
