It's spe 0.8.4c-1~hardy1 now and the problem appears to be gone after I reinstalled winpdb directly. I was under impression that there's some "flag" in .deb packages that tells whether something is usable directly or is "just a library." I didn't know it's determined by how packages are installed. Thank you!
