Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

When installing Hardy Alpha5, the install process hangs on the step
where account information is imported from my other partition on the
disk. The mouse pointer changes to "busy", but nothing happens for a
long time. Also, ubiquity doesn't take up a lot of resources (according
to top).

I am installing on an HP6710b. Ubuntu 7.10 and Windows are already on the disk.
Up to this point, the entire install went smoothly:
- screen resolution detected correctly
- wireless works
- desktop effects (transparency) enabled by default
- resizing the existing Ubuntu partition succeeded

As this problem seems similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/97081,
I'll follow the steps suggested there as well, and get back to you soon
with an update. If anyone wants me to check something else, please let
me know.

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
