Kees Cook: Of course it is not possible to re-create the data in swap, when swap is encrypted with a different key upon each boot up. But this does not invalidate this bug at all. It is still a bug that the system allows the user to hibernate to disk and thereby giving the user the impression that his/her session will show up again, when in fact his/her data is lost. Maybe the fix for this bug should rather be that the user is warned/informed about this. If possible provided with an alternative method of hibernation.
