I took a look at the hardy's emerald package, but it requires a newer libc6 to be installed, which is not present in the gutsy repos. Is it safe to update both libc6 and emerald on gutsy, using manually downloaded packeges from hardy's repo? If it is then I will give it a try and tell if this bug is fixed.
