Bruce,

I understand your frustration, I really do. However, bugs on launchpad
are programmatic issues. Bugs are meant to be of this type: "Intel
X3100, Compiz has badly drawn shadows" where it is a specific issue
about a specific piece of hardware/software.

Saying that Ubuntu is "seriously overlooking new generation ATI and
nVidia graphics cards?" is not a "bug." It is an issue, of course.
There is no doubt about that. But, honestly, the best way to deal with
that is to say "<MY_NEW_ATI_CARD> X fails to start" or
"<MY_NEW_NVIDIA_CARD> works better with latest driver from nvidia.com"

So please, if you have specific issues like that, please report them so
they can be resolved. But, again, saying just that Ubuntu should
support new generation cards is not a bug. When would we be able to say
it is "Fix Released"? What is the goal? That sounds like a never
ending "bug" to me.

I hope I have been clear in my reasoning. If you have any other
questions, don't hesitate to email me directly.

Best,

Greg
