I can confirm this, it is trivial to reproduce:

-plug in any removable media (cdrom, usb-stick..)
-from the popup nautilus-window right click and choose "open in terminal"
-quit the terminal
-try to eject the media -> doesn't work
-run 'lsof |grep <mountpoint>' and it shows something like this:

 nautilus  10863   tjaalton  cwd       DIR       22,0      640      1344
/media/cdrom0

this is also affects dapper.
