Mr. Ogasawara, as per your suggestion I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.4 from Ubuntu 7.10 With this upgrade the Booting time is reduced to 90 seconds from from the 130 seconds that I was experiencing with Ubuntu 7.04 and 7.10. But with 8.4 I still miss the graphic booting display. Now the shutting-down now is a text format. Thanks for your interest, yours, Gaetano Arena
