I'm not 100% sure this is related, but since i don't want to create duplicate bug reports i add to this report instead. I never did run 2.6.24-5, only 2.6.24-10 >, but i have the same symptoms as you, using snd-hda-intel on an LG-R500 CB laptop. Attachments will follow;
