This bug has unfortunately become a catch-all for any bugs that users are experiencing connecting to hidden networks, which is a problem because there are many, separate bugs involved here - each chipset may require different handling due to driver-specific limitations, and the nature of the hidden SSID problems have changed substantially between dapper and hardy.
Here are the bugs that have been identified and filed separately at this point; if your problem fits the description of one of these, please send any follow-ups to that bug instead of to this one: * cannot associate with hidden SSIDs using NM 0.6.6-0ubuntu2 and the iwl3945 driver in hardy (driver does not support scan_capa, should be fixed in the kernel) - bug #200950 * cannot associate with hidden SSIDs using NM 0.6.6-0ubuntu2 and the ipw2200 driver in hardy - bug #199679 * NM 0.6.6-0ubuntu2 fails to connect to any wireless networks, instead spins and drives up the system load - bug #204768, fixed in hal * ralink drivers don't work in hardy - bug #134660 If you are subscribed to this bug because you're experiencing a problem separate from any of those listed above, and you are running the current versions of all packages from hardy (especially hal and network- manager), it would probably be helpful if you would restate your problem here so that we can properly triage the remaining issues. -- can't connect to hidden network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/50214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
