The Xorg in Hardy automatically detects the proper configuration parameters, so it is generally no longer necessary to hard code them in xorg.conf. However, it is a new capability and not without some problems (esp. on older hardware). It's not clear from your bug report if you're experiencing a problem, or just were surprised that the parameters are missing in the default xorg.conf. I'll assume the latter and close this bug.
However, if you're experiencing that the autoconfiguration is not working on your system, please see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Debugging, and open one or more bugs about the issue(s) you encounter. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Won't Fix -- whatever is writing xorg.conf isn't doing as good a job as 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/206820 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
