Ok thank you for finding that out. Im closing this bug for now until
someone can confirm that this happens on clean upgrade. It is unlikely
that the new mdsum file would fail to overwrite the old without giving
the overwrite error. Please test this on another Ubuntu install if you
can but if it is a main stream issue we should see bug reports floating
in soon on this issue.
