Since I updated to Hardy, I often have this problem too. My wireless is
gone after resume (network manager won't display it).
I'm joining my messages log for the resume. After resume, iwconfig reports the
wifi card:

However, ifconfig does not report it. After a "sudo ifconfig
wlan0_rename up", the card appears in ifconfig but network_manager still
won't display it. I have a DELL XPS M1330 with an intel ipw3945ABG
wireless card.
