Hi Sam,
You mention you were able to reproduce this via a LIveCd for Hardy Beta
so I'm not sure if the following will help but you may want to give it a
try:
1) Try updating to the latest 2.6.24-14 kernel (it's a newer version than what
was on the Beta LiveCD). It should be installed with the latest Hardy updates
(also make sure linux-ubuntu-modules is up to date).
2) I also see you have a user specific config file:
/home/sam/.asoundrc.asoundconf . Care to try removing that file (or
temporarily rename it)
3) Also try the following: sudo rm /var/lib/alsa/asound.state; sudo reboot
4) If that doesn't work can you attach your dmesg output after you
suspend/resume?
