Sorry, I am just reporting the error message. The chroot
was setup using debootstrap, followed by installing a kernel
from the repository. What did I wrong?

AFAICS the problem is that 'uname -v' run somewhere deep
inside xserver-xorg's postinst script doesn't tell you
anything about the directory name of the kernel modules
in the chroot, but just on the host system. (When doing a
regular update on a "real" system you might run into the
same problem. You can't be sure about "uname -v" pointing
to the right module directory during a system update.)

So what can I do about this? There is no such problem with
xserver-xorg provided by Debian (I tried).

Regards

Harri
