This is an Atheros issue, not an Ubuntu/MadWifi issue. I have an AR5007
as well, but was able to get it working very easily using the patch on
my ia32 laptop. It was also trivial to apply the Aircrack-ng patch. The
only ugliness I see is that Atheros has not released any Linux drivers
for their hardware.

The guys behind MadWifi are working on porting this patch to the other
platforms. Once this has been done successfully, everyone will have
AR5007 support.
