Hi SL,
I see you are running the Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 version of Ubuntu. We're
actually about a week away from releasing the latest Hardy Heron 8.04.
Would you be interested in giving this newer release a test? It will
have an updated version of the kernel and also also uses the iwlwifi
drivers. So in your case it will use the iwl3945 driver as the ipw3945
is now deprecated and development efforts have shifted to the iwlwifi
project. See the following for more info:
http://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/ . You can download the latest daily
image of the Hardy Heron Beta release at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ . You should be able to test by running the
LiveCD. Version 1.2.0 of iwlwifi will be used by default. However, it
that still proves to be buggy the 'linux-backports-modules' package has
an even newever version, 1.2.25, that you could try.
Please let us know your results. Thanks.
