Please either try to install again and follow the instructions on
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs , attaching
/var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman from the installation environment,
or download a newer release of Ubuntu and follow the same procedure.
The latter is preferred as there have been many changes to the code
since the version you're using and it's entirely possible that the bug
in question is already fixed.
