I can confirm that the nautilus copies and then deletes the files when
moving them from trash.
To reproduce:
Create a large file (the large one will allow you to see the difference between
moving and copying+deleting)
Delete it
Note that the file gets moved to trash almost instantaniously.
Now try to move it from the trash back to where it was.
Note that the file first gets copied from trash, and only then deleted from
there.
It causes other problems besides the speed, for example:
Create the file more than 1/2 of your free disk space.
Delete it.
Try to undelete it by restoring it to the same disk.
You will not have enough disk space (that's because there is no space for the
second copy of the same file).
