Ok so following the instructions detailed under System->Help solved the problem, feeling like an idiot now.
I find it very inconsistent though that it is necessary to open a terminal and run a shell script to activate DVD playback. Normally if I can't playback a file, Totem just prompts for the installation of the required package. Otherwise, I use synaptic and install a relevent package and it works. IMO the use of a custom script to solve this problem is bad practise. It would be better if Totem just prompted the user to activate DVD playback. -- DVD playback broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221028 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
