Tested in Hardy 8.04 LTS version... Bug is still present although with some applications harder to reproduce.
Very easily reproducable using Blender... just render any window and drag the render window around a bunch. You will notice all kind of weird distortions on both the background as on the render window itself and the screen has trouble keeping track of the window resulting in serious ghosting of the render window. It will crash quite rapidly once you start this although on some occasions it takes a bit longer.
