I'm having an identical problem on two different machines; in both cases the logs indicate that the upgrade is "Removing ubuntu-desktop rather than change pulseaudio-esound-compat", which then causes the upgrade to fail because "The package 'ubuntu-desktop' is marked for removal but it's in the removal blacklist".
Removing the "esound" package via Synaptic has allowed me to perform the upgrade on one of the machines - the "Update Manager" approach hangs, but "sudo do-release-upgrade" in a terminal worked. I haven't tried it on the second machine yet. -- A unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222048 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
