I ran into the same issue on my upgrade.
I don't understand why this was closed just because it's not related to
gcc-3.3 base. it's a bug in Ubuntu that needs to be fixed, and this is
where -Ubuntu's- problem reporting system brings us to report the issue.
It shouldn't matter if the bug is in package X or Y, it's obviously an
issue somewhere...
