It's nice to be able to lump all of these faults into one bundle, but
they are separate issues from my perspective.

I have one computer that won't boot from the LiveCD, nor would it boot
when I did an upgrade install across the network. Everything went fine
until it completed the install and rebooted, at which time I had no
ability to make the system recognize the SATA drives.

For my particular case, and the case of at least one other person who
used the same chipset on the MB, it seems to be a lack of support for a
specific chipset.

I have several other computers with different chipsets that either
upgraded or installed from LiveCD with no problem.
