Also happened to me on my notebook Gateway 7510GX. Difference is I have upgraded successfully to 8.04 and after a few days of the upgrade, the computer started to freeze for no apparent reason, and when I rebooted it, I got this message, along with a couple of others, such as "unidentified video mode 307".
