Ok. For those, like me, who don't know ( or knew in my point ;-) ) how to turn off system beep:
1. Open file "/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist" as root with your prefered editor 2. Navigate to the end and add the following lines: #Blacklist PC-Speaker blacklist pcspkr 3. Save the file and reboot An other possibility is to recompile your kernel without the pcspkr module. A good point of start is here: http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Kernel When configuring just search module "pcspkr" and say "n" or uncheck. I hope it will help.
