I have an Abit AB9 also with the JMicron 363 chipset (ICH8 as well). In my BIOS settings I can change the mode of the JMicron chip to "IDE" or "RAID" mode. In "RAID" mode the "PCI: cannot allocate..." errors go away. Others may want to try that.
I also can confirm that I needed to plug in a PS/2 keyboard in order for things to boot up to completion off the amd64 live CD. (daily from 1+ weeks ago). I am planning on retrying with the Oct17 daily later tonight. -- JMicron PATA/SATA Controller does not work https://launchpad.net/bugs/57502 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
