I have an Abit AB9 also with the JMicron 363 chipset (ICH8 as well).  In
my BIOS settings I can change the mode of the JMicron chip to "IDE" or
"RAID" mode.  In "RAID" mode the "PCI: cannot allocate..." errors go
away.  Others may want to try that.

I also can confirm that I needed to plug in a PS/2 keyboard in order for
things to boot up to completion off the amd64 live CD. (daily from 1+
weeks ago).

I am planning on retrying with the Oct17 daily later tonight.
