Hi, I think I know what kind of behaviour you expect from the keyboard. However, I tested the default Swiss German keyboard layout and got the behaviour you seem to want (i.e. _with_ dead keys). It might be that during the updates since feisty your keyboard layout got changed... Please try switching your keyboard layout to the default one, i.e. (assuming you use the Gnome desktop in German): System -> Tastatur -> Belegungen -> Hinzufügen -> Belegungen: Switzerland, Varianten: Vorgabe And make sure to move the new layout to the top or delete the old one. Does the problem still persist, then? If so, what "Tastaturmodell" (keyboard model) are you using?
