I had this bug, too (using Hardy with audacious 1.5.0-2).
First, there were some files with an ampersand in their name which could not be
played, but some of them worked. Additionally, those files differed in that
audacious couldn't show the track details (right click on song -> "View Track
Details"). Note that the ampersand symbol sometimes did not appear in the song
title in the playlist. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pattern in the
non-working files.
So, I decided to recreate the playlist from scratch. This time I can play all
my files containing ampersands (and also after restarting audacious) and they
are shown correctly in the playlist. Nevertheless, audacious sometimes still
can't show the track details for those files (and sometimes crashes when I
repeatedly click on "View Track Details"...)
I am sorry for not being more precise. I can't really reproduce any behaviour.
Couldn't this problem therefore be related to the update mechanism of the
non-static playlist?
