Thanks for your response. I have tested this just again with the newest hardy KDE3.5.9 apps and again I was able to safely remove in cases 1-3 in the normal way.
I did not test case 4, I don't know how you created the task bar applet. All my test were based on English installation. I will do some research if I find some other descriptions of this.
