Dean Loros : Oh! Then that might not be a Linux issue but a hardware
issue (really sounds like it). Can you boot in recovery mode and launch
"sudo badblocks -sv /dev/sda" (or /dev/hda, /dev/sdb, /dev/hdb,
depending of your hardware). You can list all physical hard drive of
your computer with "sudo fdisk -l" to know what to use between /dev/sda
or /dev/hda . This test will look if your hard drive is physically
damaged.
