I'm having the same problem with my wifi drivers. I'm running 8.04LTS on a MacBookPro, dual-booting. The wifi had been working, after following steps at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookPro. I was working through other tweaks at that location, and it was after creating a .xmodmap as per the "right-click" section that wifi tanked. I've tried disabling, rebooting, re-enabling, rebooting.
