I hadn't noticed that so I guess it is a bit more complicated.

But still, for it to just chuck on a .odt extension and save it in
OpenOffice format is not the best response to the situation.

It could ask me which .doc format I wanted, or it could at least warn me
that I seem to have typed an extension that doesn't match with the
selected file format.
