I have this bug - WITHOUT vmware. It shows up randomly. In fact, while
trying to reproduce it, I logged out; logged in again - to my surprise,
the compose_key is working. I call a colleague to show it and... it just
stopped working!
Will try to figure out the xev results shortly. If only this bug will
show up, that is ;-)
