Check out http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/8.04.1/release/ for Ubuntu DVDs. Check out http://lubi.sourceforge.net/unetbootin.html for Unetbootin, a tool that worked fairly easily for me to use the Ubuntu ISO & 1+GB USB stick to make a bootable installation medium without burning a CD.
