Yes, I've had the same problem subsequently on a different computer
after installing Hardy.  On the original computer, I was able to resolve
the problem by changing the UUIDs in fstab to /dev/sdax.  (I'm no longer
using that computer though.)

I think what caused it on the computer that currently has this problem
was reformatting the /home partition.  Maybe this changed the UUID
number or something.  Since I currently don't have direct access to that
computer (it's a friend's computer) I can't test anything on it, but I
suspect I could fix the problem again by replacing UUIDs with /dev/sdax.

(By the way, the clock issue eventually went away and I'm pretty sure it
was unrelated.)
