I reopen this bug because it doesn't work for me (both Ubuntu 7.10 and
8.04).
My proxy need authentification, maybe that's why I have this problem but
I don't think so. I need to configure Proxy, proxy user/password and
proxy exceptions in Synaptic in order to have synaptic working correctly
with both external and our internal repositories.
I run synaptic from the System> Administration menu
