@Jason: Don't get me wrong - I wasn't telling you you are wrong here
(besides, I'm even not the one who should do so - I'm just another user
affected by a similar bug - namely the other one mentioned). It was just
a suggestion to check, since you seemed to be able to act with your
keyboard which was described here as not possible. But since you cannot
get to another console (CTRL-ALT-Fn), this one here seems to match
better ;)

As for your Xorg logs: You may check the timestamp of the files (Xorg
starts a new log on each system start). You may also search them for the
keyword "Backtrace" (which is followed by the error stack) to find more
information.

As for the hanging on startup: This in my case may be connected to KDE
and maybe does not happen with other window managers - it may even be
not connected to the Crash at all, so count that fact out :) I just did
a search with keywords from your description, and I cannot find a more
fitting bug either.
