FYI, I transferred the reference to debbugs #397872 from bug 227285 so
as to preserve that info when I marked it as a dup of this bug.
However, it looks like debbugs #412948 is really the one that's the same
as this bug; the others are just other random MD/crypto/... issues.
Hence, I'll update this bug to point at the best debbug.
