Can somebody hassle AMD/ATI and get them to fix their driver?
Its 2008, not 1994. I'm assuming they open-sourced their driver to relinquish
responsibility in maintainence and support.
Using the 'ati' driver is not going to cut it for most users, particularly
older Radeon users. And I certainly don't think users should have to buy new
hardware to get decent video on *nix (in general).
I have fglrx working without this bug however on:
Linux lister 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Jun 18 14:43:41 UTC 2008 i686
GNU/Linux
ii fglrx-control 1:8-3+2.6.24.13-19.44
Control panel for the ATI graphics accelerat
ii xorg-driver-fglrx 1:7.1.0-8-3+2.6.24.14-20.46
Video driver for ATI graphics accelerators
With all the people who have reported this bug, who/what compiled the
module and was it compiled against a matching kernel etc.?
