Hmm, well could you test it with the KDE4 version? You don't have to install KDE4, just sudo apt-get install dolphin-kde4 and that will install just the stuff necessary for the KDE4 dolphin. I'd recommend that KDE3 users use the KDE4 version because it's much better than the KDE3 version.
