G'day Leann, I never tested Hardy. I got Sidux up and running, and have never had any problems. In the end, I decided to leave it at that.
I also got an email from someone a couple of months ago who was having the same problem. I gave them my suggestions to recover data etc., but never heard back from them. I also had a look at that bug that you thought might have been a duplicate ... without more info, all I can say is that it may be a duplicate, but may not be as well. The main thing that I think may be different is that that bug report doesn't mention increasing instability after the first crash (that is, increasing frequency and severity unless fsck is run on the HDD). If this is not the case, I would suspect that it is a different (but perhaps related) problem. Hope this helps. cheers, Michael -- Random Quasi-crashes with 64 bit gutsy and Phenom Processors https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201361 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
