Hello.  A friend advised me to remove something called 'alltray' then 
disable the video card drivers then enable them again. Hey presto the 
resolution re-set itself!

make sure your computer is updated
System-->Administration-->Update Manager and click "check"
The latest kernel for 8.04 (hardy) is 2.6.24-20 (maybe 2.6.24-21) and you 
have 2.6.24-19
If theres still a problem re-install your video card drivers (you may have 
to with the kernel update)

Status in “firefox-3.0” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
My screen resolution has gone from 1280/768 to 640/480 all by itself. I 
can't change it back as there is not the option to go smaller only larger! 
Please help.
