I am having a similar problem on my Toshiba satellite laptop. After upgrading to edgy I have problems with both my mouse and my keyboard.
My USB optical mouse freezes after several minutes of using Kde, I am still able to use my touchpad which works flawlessly. The keyboard problem is similar.
